She Inspires: Donna Brazile

first African-American to become a campaign manager for a major party presidential campaign

This 'She Inspires' post is dedicated to the author, academic, political analyst, contributor and political commentator, Washington insider,  Ms. Donna Brazile.

Donna Brazile is the first African-American to become a campaign manager for a major party presidential campaign in 2000 for Al Gore. Today she serves as Interim Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee.

I became inspired by Ms. Brazile as a political science major in undergrad. As an intern and later a working professional in DC, I admired and appreciated how she managed to navigate through the trenches of Washington to become the political powerhouse she is today.

Thank you, Ms. Brazile, for inspiring women of color to join the political arena.
